The start-up Czech CZ IMUNE [1] developed a new vaccine against the virus Herpes Simplex, which offers the possibility of lifetime protection.
While current treatments based on steroids act only temporarily on patients, this new form of vaccine immuno-prophylactic promises to be effective for life. It is the product of a collaboration between IMUNE CZ and the Institute of Experimental Biology, Masaryk University in Brno, in the center of pharmaceutical research Roztoky [2], which has emerged thanks to program grants for innovative companies in the Ministry of Industry and Trade Czech [3]. IMUNE CZ is one of the companies in the incubator received the Innovation Centre South Moravia [4], an agency that promotes the establishment of innovative enterprises in the region and collaboration between industry and research.
The commercialization of the vaccine, provided by the company Sevapharma [5], is planned during 2011 in Ukraine, Switzerland and Italy.
